High Water Alley

Designed placemaking pylons which resemble railroad trestles to pay homage to the neighborhood's history and industrial surroundings. These pylons mark each street corner of the High Water Alley development in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. Markings denote the historic flood year (1913), along with the water level datum (724.11 msl). Combined with streetscape lighting that reinforces this height line, the monuments make subtle reference while blending seamlessly with the new buildings that surround them.
